Blowsion TUBBIES I front sponsons for Yamaha Superjet 700 & Kawasaki SXR 800 jet skis
Reference: 02-01-002
With the exciting introduction of our range of bolt-on removable Sponson Destroyer Tubbies, we have streamlined production and reduced the cost of the original revolutionary screw on permanent Tubbies! These two universal models will fit every stand-up model on the market.
Since 2002 and MANY design changes and testing, Blowsion technicians, with the incredible help of Tubbie guru "Stand Up Ed Calzorari" have created one of the most effective handling upgrades available for your stand-up paddleboard. An idea so great that Yamaha incorporated the Tubbie shape into the hull of the 2008+ Super Jet.
Are you more aggressive than the average rider? Blowsion's "Tubbies" are the answer. These dynamic IJSBA Race approved front sponsons have been used by the best of the best to win in racing and freeride. Ross Champion, Pierre Maixent, Marc Sickerling, Dustin Motszouris, Steven Dauliach, Victor Sheldon, Joe Kenney, Clay Cullen, Jeff Jacobs, Scott Watkins, Josh Lustic, Rick Roy, Mark Tearle, Sean Workman and many more pros to list. All of our riders have had incredible success with one of the most exciting composite products we have ever designed and produced.
Don't sell that SXI Pro, Yamaha SJ or Octane to buy an SXR to compete in races or against your buddies on the waves or lake.
Tubbies are the equalizer and give you a handling improvement that reduces the stock SXR's handling advantage to almost nothing. This is not an exaggeration.
To clarify the difference between the two Tubbie 1 and Tubbie 2 models available here, we have recessed a concave shape into the lower leading edge of the Tubbie II sponson to create a harder/sharper edge for turning and tracking.
The Race Tubbie II model (PN# 02-01-003) grips better in turns and is more stable in a straight line at high speeds.
The Rec/Freeride model (PN# 02-01-002) is very stable, but has a bit of mid-range nose drift due to the mouth curvature coming and going on the wave.
This is very beneficial in freeriding as the ski is able to be more forgiving and react better to a variety of water flow directions and angles. The Race Tubbie II models are more aggressive, but less forgiving on the top of diagonal waves.
If you are a rider/customer who owns the Rec/Freeride model (PN# 02-01-002) and would like to try racing, the Freeride model can be mounted 4-5 millimeters from the bottom of the hull.
This will create the same effect as the Race Tubbie Two model.
*We recommend using 2 tubes of our fast setting marine sealant and adhesive for installation.
