Darton has designed an upper patented solution (Patent #6,799,541) using a uniquely designed cylinder sleeve which, when siamesed and interlocked, creates a strong bridge of sleeve flanges held in tension, reinforcing the upper deck area and allowing individual replacement with what we call the Modular Integrated Platform (MID). The innovative "Flat-Lock" flange design locks the sleeves in place, the reinforcement block and the protective head gasket.
